DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE?
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance. Tours often sell out so we suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day. You can buy your tickets either online or by phone with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
ARE DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE?
There are occasional discounts, but there are no special price categories for students or seniors or museum members on Wednesday evening tours.
IS THE ADMISSION TO THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?
Yes, your ticket includes the museum admission (which is free Wednesday evening).
WHO IS OUR GUIDE?
Our Wednesday MFA tours are designed and led by Professor Andrew Lear, a leading scholar on gender and sexuality in art (particularly in Ancient Greek art).
ARE TOURS AVAILABLE IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH?
Private tours can be arranged in French, German, or Italian.
DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE OR GROUP TOURS?

IS THIS TOUR AGE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUNGER GUESTS?
This tour is not appropriate for pre-teens.
DOES THE MUSEUM ALLOW PHOTOGRAPHY?
Yes! You are welcome to take photos and videos from a hand-held device during the tour, for non-commercial purposes. The MFA prohibits flash photography and video cameras, however.
IS PARKING AVAILABLE?
Yes, there is a parking lot at the MFA and a garage across the street. Keep in mind that daily parking rates do apply.
HOW MUCH WALKING OR STANDING WILL THERE BE? ARE THERE STAIRS?
We will be on our feet for the majority of the 2-hour tour. Guests will have the opportunity to sit down at a few points on the tour, but we will be using the stairs.
IS THE MFA WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
Yes, the Met is wheelchair accessible, and manual wheelchairs and collators are available on a first come, first serve basis at both entrances. Please let us know in advance if you will need a wheelchair.
IS THERE A GIFT SHOP AT THE MFA?
Yes, the MFA has gift shops. While we will not have time to visit them during the tour, we absolutely encourage you to visit them afterwards. Your guide will be happy to direct you to one of the gift shops after the tour.
ARE REFRESHMENTS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?
There are a number of food options in the museum; we will not have time to visit them during the tour, but guests can visit them before the tour; after the tour on Wednesday evening, Taste Café remains open till 9 pm. Bringing food and drinks from outside into the museum is strictly prohibited.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
We recommend that you dress comfortably and wear shoes for walking as you will be on your feet for the majority of the tour.
WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?
These tours take place entirely within the Museum of Fine Arts, so tours will take place rain or shine.
